On December 2, the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Gala of A3e took place at the Guggenheim Museum at Bilbao. This event gathered more than 300 attendees from institutions and companies on their way to the Energy Transition.
Duringthe gala, the presence of key figures such as Sara Aagesen, Secretary of State for Energy, Joan Groizard, Director General of the IDAE, and Íñigo Ansola, Director General of the EVE, stood out .
The Energy Transition leads to new scenarios and new ways of doing things, with energy efficiency and renewable energies as protagonists, to achieve climate neutrality.
According to Íñigo Ansola, president of the Basque Energy Agency (EVE), "If all the measures that have been taken so far had not been adopted in recent years, we would currently be consuming 50% more energy".
Another highlight of the event was the emphasis placed on the opportunities available to us through the Next Generation Funds. Next Generation FundsFunds, which are aimed at two transversal lines: Digitalization and Sustainability.
This digitalization will be key to boosting energy efficiency through the use of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. According to José Luis Fierro, Territorial Delegate of A3e, "There is no way to do all this without digitalization. The use of key technologies such as Artificial Intelligence helps to make better decisions and to prioritize the most profitable projects that will allow us to be increasingly more neutral."
The event was rounded off with the VIII Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Awards, in recognition of the work carried out by institutions, companies, professionals and students in the field of energy efficiency.
One of the award winners in Category A1: "Commitment to Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in the Public Sector" was IFEMA Madrid, a client of the SMARKIA platform.
With more than 40 years of experience, IFEMA Madrid is one of the most important venues in Europe and the first operator in Spain in the MICE sector.
Thanks to its energy efficiency and sustainability policy, it has reduced the greenhouse gas emission ratio by almost 70% and the waste generation ratio at trade fairs by more than 43%, implementing projects that have involved energy saving and efficiency measures.
Since 2019, IFEMA Madrid has implemented the energy management system Smarkia to monitor its energy consumption and to implement the ISO 50001, through its partner Auren Ingeniería.
At Smarkia, we would like to congratulate all the award winners for demonstrating their effort and commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, being an honor to have sponsored this gala along with Iberdrola, BBVA, Carlo Gavazzi, Auren, Gobesa, IONSE, YEM Energy, Seinon, Stratenergy and Axon Time .
In particular, we would like to congratulate all the organizers who have made it possible for their effort and dedication: A3e, El Correo, EVE, Cluster Energía and Interempresas.
