What is it for?

SMARKIA displays the information stored by the metering devices and offers a set of functionalities that can easily manage the energy consumption of your organization.

How does SMARKIA get the information stored by my measurement devices, and do I have to send it to them?

SMARKIA periodically connects remotely to the information source, where your measurements are stored, and copies them so that you can monitor them later. All this happens automatically without you having to do anything.

Who establishes the communications, i.e. makes the calls so that the information is transferred?

SMARKIA is always the one who interrogates your devices to obtain the information, without the user having to take any action.

Is the process of reading the data by SMARKIA automatic or do I have to run it?

The process is fully automatic. The user does not have to do anything to have all the energy information of the organization and be able to consult it from SMARKIA.

CanSMARKIA be connected directly to my measurement equipment without the need for me to install any additional hardware?

Yes, as long as your equipment is telemetry ready, uses a compatible communications protocol and stores the data you need to monitor.

What is necessary for a device to be ready to be telemetered?

Basically, three conditions are required: That the device has a path or port that allows it to communicate with the outside. It must have access to a wired or mobile communications network. It must have the appropriate communication unit to link with the network or channel through which the information is to be transmitted.

I have a meter that is impossible to telemeter, is there any way to pass this data to SMARKIA so that I can monitor it?

Yes. In these cases, SMARKIA provides users with an Excel template where they can enter the measurements to be monitored. This file can be attached with a simple click. From this moment on, the user can visualize the information in exactly the same way as the information obtained via telecommunication.

Do I have any option for SMARKIA to extract the information from my devices if they use an unsupported protocol?

Yes. SMARKIA is a multiprotocol platform whose objective is to be able to communicate with an increasing number of devices, so we can incorporate the protocol you need or, if it is not possible, find a way to communicate through additional hardware.

Can I use SMARKIA to monitor a pulse counter, a probe that measures instantaneous values or any other meter that does not store recorded measurements over time?

Yes, as long as you use an intermediate device to which SMARKIA can be connected, which stores the meter readings as often as programmed by the user (e.g. every quarter of an hour).

Which of these intermediate devices, measurement hubs, gateways or dataloggers are compatible with SMARKIA?

Anyone using a communication protocol supported by SMARKIA or having an XML file output. The most used by our customers are CIRCUTOR, ADVANTICSYS, KROMSCHROEDER and ZIV.

CanSMARKIA extract the information I want to monitor from my SCADA, BMS or similar?

Yes, as long as it uses a compatible database and gives us access to it, directly or through Web Service. Or, you leave the information in a flat format in an FTP that we can access.

What data does SMARKIA need to be able to remotely connect to my measurement infrastructure?

It depends on the form of communication, whether through the analog telephone network, through an IP address, through a 3G card, through an FTP..... In any case, the data we need is very little and generally in a matter of hours you will be able to be using SMARKIA.

Marketing

Can I use SMARKIA for a while to see if it is what I need?

SMARKIA is sold in the form of annual subscriptions, so you can subscribe for one year and, depending on your interest, renew or not the subscription.

How much does an annual subscription to SMARKIA cost?

The price can be easily calculated from our price table taking into account: The product you need to contract (SMARKIA MONITOR, SMARKIA 50001 and SMARKIA UTILITIES ) The additional modules you are interested in (SMART BILLING and/or ADVANCED REPORTING). The number of devices to which SMARKIA is going to be connected to extract the measurements you want to monitor. The frequency with which you want SMARKIA to connect to those devices to update the information (once a day or every hour).

The more measurement points I subscribe to, do I pay less per measurement point monitored?

Yes. SMARKIA rates apply economy of scale, so that the unit price per monitored measurement point decreases as the number of points in the contracted band (1, 5, 15....) increases. Currently I want to monitor 5 measurement points, but in a few months I will need to monitor more.

Can you sign up for a 5 PM subscription now and extend it when you need it?

Yes, at any time you can contract an extension and move from one band to a higher one. I have 5 temperature probes collecting data at different points in my installation, and they are all stored in a measurement concentrator.

How many measuring points would I need to purchase?

In this case it would be a subscription of 1 measurement point (from which SMARKIA extracts the information), not 5. Each measurement point represents a device to which SMARKIA is connected to extract information of up to 10 different magnitudes.

If SMARKIA is to be connected to a single device, but it contains data from more than 10 different signals, how many measurement points do I have to subscribe to?

The calculation is very simple: 1 measurement point is counted for every 10 signals (rounding up if the total number of signals is not a multiple of 10). The result allows us to know what range of measurement points we need to contract. For example, for 37 signals supplied by a single device, we need to contract the range of 5 measurement points.

What is the difference between a subscription with daily or hourly reading?

The reading type indicates how often SMARKIA connects to your devices to capture your information. That is, how often the information is updated in the SMARKIA database for your reference.

If I contract a daily reading, will I only be able to see one data per day of the signals I am monitoring?

Even if you sign up for the daily reading, you can view as much data as is stored in the device to which SMARKIA connects to obtain the information, for example, a measurement every quarter of an hour.

What do I have to do if I want to buy SMARKIA?

SMARKIA sell directly?

At SMARKIA we always sell our products through our channel partners, which will help you to acquire the SMARKIA module you are most interested in and use it to get the maximum benefit.

DoesSMARKIA sell hardware or measuring devices?

We only deal with software. However, we can put you in contact with one of our partners who can advise you and offer you what you need.

DoesSMARKIA sell energy consulting services?

SMARKIA is not an energy consulting company, it is in charge of offering the platform and its support. If you need consulting services, we can put you in contact with one of our partners that fits that profile and offers the services you need.

SMARKIA is a development purchased from third parties?

SMARKIA is a set of functionalities designed and developed entirely by our team, which gives us total independence to decide to undertake new developments in response to your concerns and needs.

Will I receive support once I have purchased the platform?

Of course. Once you have contracted SMARKIA, you will receive personalized training to familiarize yourself with the platform. Subsequently, the support team of SMARKIA will attend all the doubts and incidents that may arise about SMARKIA MONITOR, SMARKIA 50001 or SMARKIA UTILITIES .

SMARKIA is a cloud platform that offers different products related to energy monitoring and management. Currently at your disposal are SMARKIA MONITOR, SMARKIA 50001 and SMARKIA UTILITIES . There are also two additional modules in both products, SMART BILLING and ADVANCED REPORTING, which you can hire or not depending on your needs.

IsSMARKIA 50001 only for companies that want to implement or certify a system based on ISO 50001?

SMARKIA 50001 is designed for any organization that wants to opt for a complete management of its energy, in a simple and effective way. So its use is not restricted to those who want to be certified. Those who also want to obtain certification under ISO 50001 can do so easily, as SMARKIA meets all its requirements.

What is the INTELLIGENT INVOICE module for?

The SMART BILLING module allows you to generate your own bills regardless of the supplier, whether they refer to the fixed or indexed market. You will also have power and tariff optimizers that allow you to simulate and calculate the optimal power and tariffs based on your consumption history.

What can I do with the ADVANCED REPORTING module?

SMARKIA adapts to any type of report that the user needs to generate. If you already have a report type that you usually use, SMARKIA will run it automatically.

Cloud

Do I need to install SMARKIA on my computer or on one of my servers?

SMARKIA is a Cloud platform, so no installation is required. You can easily access through the Internet, using your username and password.

Do I need to buy a license for each computer from which I want to use SMARKIA?

SMARKIA does not work under a licensing system, we only work with access keys, you can use SMARKIA from any device that has Internet access.

Can I use SMARKIA from my tablet or cell phone?

Yes. SMARKIA is ready to be used from any device, whether it is your computer, Tablet or Smartphone.

Do I have to pay for version upgrades at SMARKIA?

Any improvement of the functionality will be available to you as soon as it is made, without any additional cost.
